Responsibilities

•Support the preparation and submission of budgets, forecasts, and long-range plans
•Conduct scenario analysis on variables such as foreign exchange rates
•Prepare Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) packages and manage associated SAP requirements
•Review and attest invoices for major vendors to ensure compliance with contractual documents
•Maintain tracking files such as invoice and milestone registers
•Monitor and report on upcoming cash requirements in support of cash forecasts/cash calls
•Complete general ledger reviews and prepare monthly journal entries and accruals
•Work with Project Team to provide commentary on cost variances
•Prepare reports and presentations for senior management and executive level audiences
•Provide financial information in support of key performance indicators (KPIs)
•Respond to audit queries (i.e., internal, joint venture, royalty, tax, and contractual)
•Document financial procedures and processes and identify opportunities for improvement
•Ensure effective governance via the development and enforcement of financial controls

REQUIREMENTS

•Bachelor of Commerce or equivalent with a CPA designation required
•Minimum 10 years’ relevant experience
•Solid understanding of SAP
•Advanced Microsoft Excel skills
•Excellent oral and written communication skills
•Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
•Strong technical accounting skills and financial acumen

Maderra Personnel is currently seeking a qualified individual for the position of Wellsite Geologist in St. John’s, NL. Wellsite Geologist (Rigsite) – 3 roles. Senior Wellsite Geologist (Office and Rigsite) – 1 role.

Located in St. John’s, Newfoundland, Maderra Engineering Inc. provides project management, project services, engineering, technical and personnel services to the Energy, Resource, and Commercial sectors. Responsibilities

•Able to work rotational schedule (3-4 weeks per hitch) on remote offshore facility
•Supervise and quality control geological operations at the wellsite
•Quality control sample descriptions of cuttings and cavings
•Act as liaison with key drilling and data acquisition personnel at the wellsite and in the office in a timely manner
•Supervise and quality control data acquisition activities at the wellsite
•Monitor ROV feed for shallow flow or adverse conditions during riserless drilling
•Ensure all geological and data acquisition contractors perform their duties in a satisfactory manner
•Perform Well-site log correlation and aid in selection of casing points and TD
•Evaluate and interpret geological data including cuttings samples and offset well data.
•Communicate to the well-site team regarding upcoming geological hazards
•Proactively inform the well-site team of imminent section/well TD
•Ensure that all well information, including reports, data and logs are uploaded daily
•Oversee intake and competency assessment of newly hired wellsite geologists
•Ensure training and development plan for WSGs addresses any gaps and complies with all regulatory and operator requirements
•Coordinate and prepare pre-drill data repository and supporting documentation

REQUIREMENTS

•A post-secondary degree in geology or related field of study
•10 years experience in wellsite and operations geology working in or around offshore Newfoundland (20 years minimum experience for Senior Wellsite Geologist Role).
•Capability to work offshore in Newfoundland, including certification or fitness to obtain certification for offshore safety and survival (Sponsorship not available)
•(Preferred) Professional Geologist designation (PEG-NL or equivalent).

Offshore Logistics Coordinator

Responsibilities

•Engages daily with the Well Site Lead (WSL) on personnel and equipment timings for time planner
•Updates Kabal with personnel, equipment, dry bulk and fluids movements
•Updates Kabal operations status with vessel movements, agrees with the WSL, and sends to daily distribution list
•Updates Kabal with overnight vessels operations using feedback from nightshift deck crew
•Updates offload and backload paperwork and distributes to the day shift deck crew
•Sends a daily plan to the vessel for both shifts. If Dangerous Goods (DGs) are to be backloaded, prepares DG paperwork and transfers to the vessel
•Completes the daily costs spreadsheet and sends to the Drilling Engineer
•Completes all paperwork prior to vessel operations completion (Safety Data Sheet, backload manifest and waste transfer notes)
•Obtains slops analysis from the Mud Engineer and sends them with paperwork to the vessel
•Monitors weather for next vessel sailing to check adequate weather window to work the vessel
•Completes deck planning to verify adequate rig space for receiving cargo
•Sends loading instructions to the Supply Base team to verify priority cargo is accessible (no cherry picking). Where backloading from rig takes place, verifies available space
•Determines specific loadout order for the rig to pick up oilfield country tubular goods in correct sequence
•Liaises with the Drilling Engineer for deck layout on casing loadout (slick and centralised) to verify correct sequence for picking up on rig

REQUIREMENTS

•10 years or more proven track record in Offshore Logistics related roles specific to offshore oil and gas operations in Newfoundland or Nova Scotia
•Proficient in Microsoft excel, PowerPoint, Kabal (Wellit)
•Deep understanding of deep-water drilling and completion operations associated equipment, common suppliers, deck management on an offshore mobile offshore drilling unit, and logistics involved with executing well work.

Responsibilities

•Acts as the logistics onshore focal point regarding timely co-ordination of all outbound cargo movements
•Delivers connectivity and engagement with service providers, Supply Base contractor focal point, and offshore logistics coordinator
•Consults with offshore logistics coordinator to check offshore readiness for cargo (reduce/eliminate round trip cargo)
•Liaises with service providers regarding call-off cargo, including materials, equipment, bulks and services
•Communicates and maintains working relationships with key stakeholders
•Liaises with bulk service provider and internal marine/bulk co-ordinator for timely loadout of bulk products
•Participates in the daily rig call to provide input into Kabal planning
•Leads the daily logistics planning meeting and provides input into the plan
•Takes responsibility for the cargo planning function, supplier engagement process and general guidance for Kabal activity
•Produces and issues timely cargo loadout requests in Kabal, including seven day, 48 and 24 hour
•Administers and maintains Kabal system generated cargo demands, including raising system call-off requests
•Provides feedback to onshore heli-admin after every daily call to confirm their personnel/air freight plan/schedule aligns with operations

REQUIREMENTS

•10 years or more in Logistics roles specific to offshore oil and gas operations in Newfoundland
•Demonstrated performance in supply base management, vessel scheduling, cargo management, and aviation coordination
•Proficient in Microsoft excel, PowerPoint, Kabal (Wellit)

•Facilitate and coordinate discipline engineering technical work products
•Coordination and communication of various issues among the company’s and contractor’s engineering team that affect the discipline engineering design, safety, and regulatory compliance of the work
•Evaluate / comment work performed by the Contractor and sub-contractors to ensure that the work is being executed in accordance with Company specifications, standards, and regulatory requirements. Includes review of discipline design drawings and documents

•Participate in discipline engineering reviews at Contractor’s and subcontractor’s locations
•Drives and promotes capital efficiency in engineering design

REQUIREMENTS

•15+ years of closely related professional experience
•Bachelors degree in Engineering within discipline.
•Extensive knowledge of discipline design standards, specifications, codes, and appropriate safety criteria
•Ability to adapt to tight deadlines, heavy workloads, and frequent changes in priorities
•Proficient in Microsoft Office suite of software programs

•Coordinate the development of emergency response plans, ensure alignment and integration of those plans with corporate policies, and ensure the needs of other key stakeholders are met,
•Develop, implement, support and instruct management and staff in emergency management techniques, including organization and facilitation of training and exercises,
•Maintain emergency response centre and team readiness,
•Support the provision and maintenance of offshore oil spill response equipment, including the management of response contractors,
•Stay engaged in current and emerging regulatory compliance issues, industry standards, and best practices relating to emergency response and oil spill equipment and preparedness.

REQUIREMENTS

•Completion of a bachelor’s degree in Environmental or Marine Sciences or equivalent,
•Five years of related experience in emergency management and oil spill response in the offshore oil and gas industry,
•Completion of the Marine Spills Response Operations Course (MSROC) or equivalent,
•An understanding of the Incident Command System (ICS) emergency response structure, including completion of ICS 100 and 200 at a minimum.
•Knowledge of offshore oil spill planning and response, including equipment deployment and strategies (e.g., mechanical containment and recovery, spill treating agents, etc.),
•Knowledge of the techniques associated with the cleaning and rehabilitation of oiled seabirds,
•Ability to complete technical evaluations of best management practices and technologies for oil spill response and make recommendations for implementation,
•Knowledge of critical incident stress management, emergency notifications and crisis communication,
•Excellent presentation, written communication, group facilitation and training skills,
•Knowledge of corporate and regulatory reporting requirements.
